Failure in Communicating with Surrey Residence

Here is a letter that I had sent to the City of Surrey:

Failure in Communicating with Surrey Residence

To whom it may concern,

I am writing to express my frustration and concern with the failure of the City of Surrey and council to effectively communicate with East Clayton Residence.

To my knowledge, residences of Surrey are provided with information using the newspaper and website as communication vehicles.

I have been a residence of Surrey since August 2007 and have yet to receive a local newspaper. As such my knowledge of what is going on in Surrey is limited. I have been in contact with the local papers and they have refused to deliver a paper to me. They have not provided me with a clear and accurate reason for this. This also means I have not received a waste collection calendar, leisure guide or have been provided with information on hearings that are coming up that may have an impact of me and my family.

On January 10th and 11th, I visited the City of Surrey website to get more information on the issues regarding waste pick up. I was disappointed to discover the link for "Garbage Collection Program" was not working.

I have since called the mayor and council to investigate a more reliable and effective way to communicate with residences of Surrey. To date the use of local papers and website has not been effective ways of communicating with Surrey residence.

I look forward to hearing from you.
