Ban on Fast Food
Canadian Medical Associations (CMA) stance on banning smoking in all vehicles carrying children is a nice start. This only protects children's lungs. If the CMA would like to help kids decrease their risks of heart attacks, strokes, cancer and diabetes they need to ban fast food in vehicles carrying children. Since cigarettes have been made difficult to access to children and has decreased the numbers of smokers over the years, the same needs to be done with fast food. The easy to fast food has lead to over eating and the consumption of wasted calories leading to obese children. If the CMA is serious about children’s health, they would expand their mandate beyond children's lungs and look preventing illness in the whole child.
