We all have one type of activity we prefer - perhaps it’s walking, running, swimming or yoga. We enjoy our favourite activity, are good at it, and are so familiar with it that we do it over and over again, often with similar results. To decrease your risk of injury, improve overall health and fitness, increase weight loss, and increase the odds of sticking to your health and fitness program, consider the benefits of cross training.

Health & Fitness Presentation - Core Stability for a Healthy and Strong Back

Core stability muscles play an important role in all activities of daily living. They assist us in performing the simplest of activities like opening a door or maintaining good posture. However, when ignored, the core stability muscles become weak and the risk of low back pain and instability increases.

Travel Destination - Butchard Gardens - Vancouver Island , Canada

Visiting Butchart Gardens is a must when in Victoria , British Columbia , Canada . The gardens, which host over million visitors each year, were first planted in 1904 when Jennie Butchart decided to beautify an old quarry site. Jennie and her family were committed to maintaining the gardens and over the last 100 years, they have grown into an international destination. Butchart Gardens have been designated a National Historic Site of Canada. The 55-acres of gardens feature Japanese, Rose, Italian, Mediterranean Gardens and more. Butchart Gardens is 21 kilometres from Victoria and is a beautiful excursion en route to Victoria .

The Rockies are one of the greatest mountain ranges in the world. They are the backdrop of the Canadian wilderness and many of the northwestern United States . The Great Divide Mountain Bike Route (GDMBR) is a cycling trail that winds through and over the Rocky Mountains , and is a premier off-pavement mountain bike route. The trail covers 4337 km / 2691 mi, crisscrossing the Continental Divide south to north, is remote and offers spectacular terrain and scenery. The trail has over 200,000 feet of elevation gain and follows the Rockies through New Mexico, Colorado, Idaho, Wyoming, Montana, British Columbia, and Alberta.
