Walking at Work Adds Up

Nurse, waiter, police officer, construction worker - in certain professions, the workplace doubles as a gym.
While some people slave away on a Stairmaster or treadmill at their health club, others walk miles per day and get paid for it.
However, it's both the number of steps you take and the speed at which you take them that determines the health benefits, said Patty S. Freedson, chairman of the Department of Kinesiology at University of Massachusetts at Amherst.
